If you don't feel like doing that it tells viewers that the special took many months to make. If you are curious to see any behind the scenes or a preview of the look, Google "SpongeBob Christmas special behind the scenes" and the first thing to pop up should be an ABC youtube video about the making of. Every character was hand made from scratch and animated one frame at a time, just like in hand drawn animation, but everything is tangible. SpongeBob and Plankton are made out of foam, Patrick has a wooly fabric, and Squidward is a smooth shiny fabric. All the characters were built as puppets to represent the original show, but they will not look exactly the same. So the reviewer who said this is not all claymation, they are right, but it is most definitely completely animated in stop motion. You can compare the style to Rudolph by Rankin Bass and Nightmare Before Christmas by Henry Selick, but it is not claymation like Wallace and Gromit or Gumby, which are claymation (as many other reviewers seem to believe this is). The entire special is done in stop-motion animation. SpongeBob's innocent love of the holidays saves the day. The story is about Plankton trying to get the Krabby patty secret formula and Bikini Bottom falling into chaos in the process. This was made in a form of animation called stop-motion, which is different from the show which is done in 2d animation. The word "jerk" is constantly used and there is even a song about not being a jerk, so if you don't like the word "jerk" don't jerk your money out to jerk this movie into your player and let it jerk about on your television. This is a 22 minute SpongeBob Xmas special with songs scattered throughout it that has a recurring theme of not being a jerk during the holidays. Reviewed in the United States □□ on 14 April 2021īefore I delve too far into details on the animation let me give an overall description so you know what to expect. Since I have Prime and returns don't cost me anything except a little time, I guess I will just keep ordering additional copies of this movie and keep returning them until I get one with a Digital Copy code. But the replacement movie was exactly the same situation! Factory sealed package with no code insert! In reading other reviews, it appears that this exact thing has happened numerous times for well over the past 2 years! Yet Amazon continues to allow these movies to be sold without requiring a clear description or disclaimer that NONE of the copies of this particular movie contain a Digital Copy code, regardless of what the package says. I did an exchange which was free because I bought it using Prime. But I have NEVER had a new sealed movie that was entirely missing the insert with the Digital Copy code. Occasionally I will run across a movie that has the proper insert with the Digital Copy code but the code ends up being expired or invalid for some reason. But there wasn't the usual Ultraviolet paper insert for redeeming the Digital Copy. Well its NOT included!! I opened the movie that appeared to still be sealed in cellophane from the factory. The package clearly says that a Digital Copy is included.
